Guided, not blank

Every block carries the question it answers, interrogation prompts, and starter notes you can add with one click — you are never staring at an empty box.

Exports that hold up

Print-ready A4 PDF in each framework's true grid, high-resolution PNG, Markdown, re-importable JSON, an editable Excalidraw file, and blank worksheets for workshops.

Private by construction

No account, no server, no analytics on your content. Your canvases live in your browser's local storage and nowhere else.

Share in one click

A whole canvas compresses into a URL. Send it to a colleague and they get an editable copy instantly — no invitations, no signups.

Fast to a first draft

Most frameworks reach a useful first pass in 20–45 minutes. The prompts keep you moving; the examples show what good looks like.

Worked examples everywhere

What is a Business Model Canvas?

The Business Model Canvas is a one-page strategic template that describes how an organisation creates, delivers, and captures value. It was developed by Alexander Osterwalder and Yves Pigneur and published in Business Model Generation in 2010. The canvas splits a business into nine building blocks: customer segments, value propositions, channels, customer relationships, revenue streams, key resources, key activities, key partners, and cost structure. Because it fits on one page, it makes the whole model visible at once, which is what allows you to spot the parts that do not add up.

Is this Business Model Canvas tool really free?

Yes. Every feature is free with no signup, no trial, no watermark, and no export limit. You can create unlimited canvases and export them as PDF, PNG, Markdown, or JSON. The site is supported by advertising rather than subscriptions.

In what order should I fill in the nine blocks?

Start with customer segments, then value propositions, because every other block is a consequence of who you serve and what you offer them. Then work outward: channels, customer relationships, and revenue streams describe the demand side; key resources, key activities, and key partners describe the supply side; and cost structure comes last, since you cannot cost activities and resources you have not yet defined. The blocks in this tool are numbered in that order.

Where is my canvas stored? Do you see my data?

Your canvas is stored only in your own browser using localStorage. Nothing is uploaded, there is no account, and no server receives your business model. That also means your work is specific to that browser and device — use JSON export to move a canvas somewhere else or to keep a backup.

Can I export the Business Model Canvas as a PDF?

Yes. Choose Export and then PDF for a print-ready A4 landscape page laid out in the standard nine-block grid. If a block contains more notes than fit in its cell, a second page lists that block's full contents, so nothing is silently cut off. PNG, Markdown, and JSON exports are also available, and browser printing is supported.

How do I share my canvas with a co-founder or my team?

Press Share to copy a link that contains the whole canvas compressed into the URL itself. Anyone who opens it gets an editable copy in their own browser. Because there is no server, the link is a snapshot rather than a live collaborative document — for a shared source of truth, export JSON and keep it in your repository or drive.
